Physical Education Program (PEP)
The Cedar Falls School district recently received the Carol M. White Physical Education Program (PEP) grant designed to improve student fitness levels. Students will be selected randomly from grades K-12 at some time during the 2009-2010 school year for data assessment which will support the grant.
If your student is selected, teachers will provide them with an activity log to document the amount of time they spend each day engaged in moderate to vigorous physical activity. It is very important that selected students complete the logs during the identified weeks. Data collected and report to the federal government will not include student names or other identifying information.
Your efforts will allow us to properly implement the federal grant which is already benefiting students attending Cedar Falls Schools through improved physical education equipment, staff training and student choices.
